That looks like a cactus with buds beginning, am I right? Was that taken in the desert?
What are they reaching for?
Very good guess, Terri. It's an ocotillo in bloom, found locally in the Anza Borrego Desert. Some days I find the image uplifting, like Triteacher suggests. Today, though, I'm home sick and the spikiness heightens my considerable irritability.
I have some catching up to do here, Anne! So sorry to hear about your co-workers. Very sad! My prayers go out to the family and friends affected.
Blooming Ocotillo! Anne, you rock! That's one of my favorite cacti (Giant Saguaro is next) that I would enjoy seeing on my annual spring break trip to the desert. No deserts here in the east. I kind of miss them.
very cool looking Cacti! :-)
anne, are you in my front yard and you didn't tell me?? ;-)
