Coming Around Again

Thank you for all the comforting words expressed in the comments and in private e-mails in the past week. Each one had the effect you intended: a little boost to help keep my grief from growing. Not gonna lie to you, the next couple of days will be hard since Joe was a part of our Christmases for many, many years. But I am emotionally ready for it, and I think the rest of the family is too.

We've had a lot of rain here, and somehow I've managed to run around it. Me, the one who loves running in rain. The forecast calls for more "liquid sunshine" so maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow or the next day.

P.S. Joe passed away today.

Running is a good thing Anne. I know it helps me. When things get bad - I run faster.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hang in there, Anne. I hope that the Christmas holiday brings you and your family a sense of peace and solice.

Also,
RE: your comment on my blog about pictures... I'd be happy to take your 2009 holiday family photos IF you take ours. :)

Anne, sorry to hear about your friend. I read that other lady's blog about him and his friend Kevin. Sounds like he had put up an incredible fight against that cancer (I think all forms of cancer are monster bastards), and today now he's not feeling any pain any longer. I know that doesn't take away the pain you feel, but it's what helped me get through things when my friend died from cancer a few years ago.

Try to get through it day by day, or hour by hour. It's the only way.

I just now caught the PS.

I'm so sorry to hear the news, but I hope there is comfort in knowing that he is at peace.

Anne - I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you can find some comfort in your runs. It's oddly a safe haven for me so I hope it offers you some comfort too.

Thank you for writing about Joe, how he touched you and yours, and how we went out with amazing strength and grace. He got what it is all about - passing on the love. You get it, too.

Hugs to you.
