Japanese marathoner Kayoko Fukushi made a common rookie mistake and went out too fast during the Osaka Marathon. It's the clumsy-yet-graceful way she handles herself in the end that makes her stand out. Oh, if only I could bonk so beautifully. Well worth four minutes of your day to watch this one.

I got all antsy just watching it, even though we know the outcome!
she falls so lightly, delicately. it belies the battle inside her head and legs.
Very graceful bonking indeed.
Not so graceful ones, but equally courageous:

and it's not even for first place.
that's awesome!
her poor mother watching! just dying not being able to help her.
i could NOT run with cameras and all those guys following me!
wow
That was hard to watch...
I'm running a race on Sunday.
But it's only a 4 miler!
2:40+ - that's still pretty awesome.
Ohhh the Japanese and their running... definitely kept me inspired while on Okinawa!
Poor thing here - just read that she only ran 13 mile training runs for the marathon prep...? What an amazing runner though, 2:40 marathon is awesome to me! I wonder how she'll do on the next one!?
Oh man, that was hard to watch. then after, everyone surrounds her. I would have been like, "GET the HELL away from ME!"
I wish I could only look so good with a 3:40 finish, let alone a 2:40 finish.
I would love to know what was going through her head to be able to keep that smile on her face....
