First the garage door openers broke. Both of them.
Then the front door latch.
Then the front and back sprinklers. Again.
Then my digital camera.
Then my cell phone.
Then my watch.
Then one of the cars. The expensive one.
So my husband and I delayed exchanging holiday gifts.
Then the Christmas credit card bills for all the others arrived.
And an unusually high (but justified) car insurance bill.
And an unusually high gas and electric bill.
And a water and sewer bill that somehow doubled.
And receipts for two college tuitions, only both with balances due.
So if you find me hiding under a rock, please understand.
Right now it’s all I can afford.

Oh, so sorry, Anne! I can empathize with your current predicament. Except I only have one college tuition to pay.
Sorry to hear about all the mishaps and bills to pay. They say around this time is the "blue" time.. Everybody gets there bills and such..
At least your not alone.
One of them months...hope it gets better for you.
oh no!! it will get better, it always does. life does its thing - ebbs and flows - and takes us along for the ride. ((hugs))
Yikes - what a holiday hangover. Utility bills are getting absolutely crazy. At least February will be 2 days shorter.
Whoa - you're having a run of it, and not the good kind of run! I hate when stuff like that happens. Hang in there!
Look on the bright side, at least you're not finding dead things in your barnyard that should be making you money within the next four months. I feel your pain only instead of things breaking, I've got things croaking. Can I share your rock?
sorry mommy
Aren't we all getting some stimulus in the mail? Sounds like a good idea right about now.
And I was just worrying about my credit card bill....
well look at this way, you can take me phone upgrade, and i can pay for my books! find alex's old digital camera and use that...its all good!
look at that, your girls are trying to help..me, I'll just find you a bigger rock in a better location. as they say location location location.
Hang in there... hopefully it will all even out and you can get back out from that rock!
I'll second being finished with THIS month!
February will be better, I just know it!
Please save some room under that rock. You should have lots of company.
It seems like every few days another $100 - $500 expense arrives at my door step. This morning my youngest cracked a 4' x 3' stained class window in our stairwell 'cause she was mad and not paying attention as she stormed down the stairs.
Oh well ... I don't really need to get my clutch fixed this month ...
hang in there.
Sucks to be you, eh? Like Phil said, make room under that rock for company - our winter bills ain't pretty either. Both kids head to the orthodontist for the first time next month, Hubby needs multi-whatever new glasses, and I'm hoping my car's brakes can hold out for another couple of months. But hey, I get soup and cookies with my race entry tomorrow :)
And...your kids read your blog. I was just moaning about my own situation and now I read about yours. Hang in there Anne.
Here, hiding under my rock, I am wishing for January weather to be done. Most people could do with January bills being done too.
Clever me, I said, last August, let's wait until after Christmas to buy heating oil: the price will probably be down. Oooops! Now we are paying.
Is there more room under your rock?
Well on the bright side...this was a great post! I was bitching about my bills and now I don't feel so alone!
Hugs and hugs. All you need is one good thing to happen and snowball into lots of other good things....
Oh Anne -- I love your sense of humor in the face of it all. Good on ya - and best wishes with the rest of it.
