Until there are more hours in the day

Signs are popping up around me that everything but my waistline is stretched too thin at the moment.

Run DMZ is going on hiatus until Oct. 29, when daylight savings ends and we get to push back the clock an hour. By then, my latest work project should be ready for Barnes & Noble displays nationwide and my latest freelance piece will be in the bag. My grandmother will be in a better place, whether it’s back home or in heaven. My baby sister will have found a new car to replace the one she totaled yesterday. My own baby will be 18 years old. My college kid will continue to make me proud, and my husband will have started a new career. By then, I also should have good reason to write about running again.

Unfortunately, I can't give specifics on the book because of contractual obligations, but it's due to be displayed in stores at Christmas. It's going to be a fun project and a good read, provided I find the time to tackle it.

And thanks for all the comments, here and through backchannels. I know this is the best thing for everyone right now. We're preparing to lose my grandmother within the next week. Naturally, this is when another major work project I've pushed till the deadline will now come due.

Just imagine if I was a procrastinator (which I'm not).

I am so sad to read this...this has been my window into your life for the last year. Guess, you'll just have to put up with a phone call or two from me :-)

Time to pull back and re-group - love your family and focus on your priorities. Hey, we'll still be here when you get back. And just like the soaps, it won't take long to catch up at all :)

Sure sounds like you need a break with all you having going on! I'm excited about your upcoming project - whatever it is :)

What - you want to write to mainstream people for money instead of to bloggers for free? You want to spend time with your family instead of facing a computer screen?

Good for you.

Good luck with everything, and see you when you return. Unless you don't return, which you may find a good option at that point.

And if that's the case ... thanks for everything. You were one of the first ones to notice me and encourage me, and I'm grateful.

Thank you, everyone. You make me want to cry. I'll be back. Don't worry.

Take care of yourself, Anne, and your family. Ultimately that is the most important thing in life. My thoughts and prayers are for your Grandma's recovery. Hope to have you back soon. P.S. -- We're going to have a grandbaby in April and are so excited!

Just found your blog through CRN. I'm also in SD but run Lake Murray. I also ran the SDRNRM. Not speedy but I fininshed.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Take care and I look forward to getting to know you better when you return.

You should have capitalized Heaven! See? I take after your supreme editing skills... And just 'cause I'll be 18, I'll still act as immaturely as, oh, say, a 45-year-old..... the one you married.. AND, if you read this, you obviously haven't totally removed blogging from your daily regimen. Reading counts, too. I love you.

Take care Anne. Sounds like a good move to focus on the priorities now.
Good luck with everything.
