I think I cane, I think I cane

Not quite the good news I was expecting, but the doctor says there are signs of new bone where it should be. The x-ray tech still can't believe I didn't do this by falling. I still can't drive, though. But if I religiously use my crutches, rather than continue to behave like the lapsed patient I've been the past week, then in two weeks, when it's time to fly to Chicago for a business trip, I can use a cane he gave me today.

I did groan when I saw the thing, and he did admit, it makes me look older. Then again, it could be worse. It could make me look fat.

At least he didn't give you a walker! That'd really make you look fat.

Good news on the new bone!

Oh come on. It's not THAT bad. It could be worse.

I'd take older over fatter anyday.

you should TOTALLY pimp out your cane, with some awesome stickers or ribbons or SOMETHING! haha you could put a bike horn on it to signal people to get the heck outta your way! think of it as an accessory!!! soon EVERYONE will be wanting a pimped out cane like yours anne!!!! seriously!

That's it!!! You should "pimp" out that cane...how about a finishers medal or two?! Besides if you become fat...you can always try the purina diet :-)

Same here, I'd rather look older than fatter, too.

Hang in there, be good, and that is encouraging there is new bone growth.

Keep on healing, girl!

Good point - the cane surely doesn't make you look fat! Hang in there.

oh, man! I'm with Michelle - at least you don't have a walker!

Even a walker beats a bedpan. The cane will project an air of wisdom...wise Anne.

well one cane *is* better than two crutches so that would be positive progress, which is good news, albiet in a smaller portion than you were expecting, sorry you are dealing with this, lol re: looking fat. older and wiser always better!

Get a really thick cane, to make you look skinny!

Cane's are sexy Anne. Okay maybe I'm reaching on this one, but I'm sure you make that cane look GOOD.

older, fat - don't worry about appearance. It's how you view yourself on the inside that matters. You gotta do the work to get better. Tell yourself it's all a means to an end. I like Robb's comment about being wise.
